Majoria absoluta

Yesterday i watched a part from the Catalan series called Majoria absoluta. It was on air from 2002 'til 2004.

Carme Elías plays in it of course,but only in three episodes.So now i'm trying to get them,and i already have one, the title is Records. I can't tell too much about the story,because i understood just really a few words as it's in Catalan. But it seems to be a very funny series.I made some snapshots i'll share them here:

En brazos de la mujer madura

Yes,it's right, the title of my blog is coming from a film.(What else?) In praise of older woman was made in 1997, with participating such great actresses like Carme Elías and Faye Dunaway. 

A young boy is going to find her mother in the time of the Spanish Civil War. During his journey he forgets more and more what was his aim because he starts to discover his growing affection to older and very pretty women.(I really can't blame him for that) He turns into a real young man when he finally can rejoin with his mother,but his affection doesn't disappear at all.Let's see some snapshots about the women he falls and of course about Carme Elías,who plays his mother, Irene.

This is my little summary for En brazos de la mujer madura. It's really worth to watch, the story is great,not mentioned the actresses.

Downton Abbey

I've started to watch another series beside Gavilanes...the title is Downton Abbey,it's a British television drama.

The story is setted in England,in a place called Downton Abbey. It's 1912. The year, when the Titanic - which was mentioned as unsinkable- sinked. The Grantham family has to face with a huge problem. Lord Grantham, the head of the family lost his heir in the ship tragedy. He was planning to give his daughter's hand to his cousin, so the fortune and the castle would have stayed in the Grantham family's hand.But the plan sinked just as Titanic did.So who will inherit now?How the family keep the fortune?A new inhere appears, and most members of the family is not too happy about it...

I watched the first episode yesterday,and i made a few snapshots about my favourite character,Lady Cora Grantham.She is pretty,elegant,fancy and played by the fantastic Elizabeth McGovern. 

She also played t in the movie called Daphne,which is about the talented and wonderful writer,Daphne du Maurier. 

I must mention another great actress who is also appearing in Downton Abbey, and she is Dame Maggie Smith!She is the mother of Lord Grantham and she wants to keep everything in her hand.

Just to make it clear: there was a series in 2003 and 2004 called Pasión de Gavilanes. So it seems that i'm watching the remake of it. The storyline is more or less the same:
Three young,handsome brothers have to suffer a real tragedy.Their sister dies in a car accident.The girl was sitting next to her lover, who is a really rich man but already married with three children. The brothers want revenge,so they start to work at the Elizondo's olive oil factory which belongs to their sister's love and to his family. It seems they are planning something with the three girls i mentioned above,i have that feeling that the boys withh fall for them...
It sounds a little bit difficult?I'm sure it will be more.But let's see those pretty snapshots i made yesterday about Carme Elías,who plays the mother of the three girls.
In the second episode Sofía gave the certain look several times:"What do you want?!"

Leo Macias (Marisa Paredes) is a writer. She writes sentimental, romanctic novels with a pseudo name. However her life is not like in her books. Her husband is a soldier, and he is away all the time.When they rarely meet it ends up with fighting. If it wouldn't be enough, her husband is having and affair with Leo's best friend Betty (Carme Elías) . Leo has to start a new life, but the first steps are very hard...
